This is another Tokyu Hotel with excellent customer service. We chose Kanazawa as our step stone to Shirakawa. I had difficulties to book a bus ticket online, back from Shirakawa to Kanazawa, when I wrote a letter to the hotel through booking.com message board, asking for help. The hotel staff responded quickly and made the reservation for us. We just needed to make the payment to the bus company upon arrival at Kanazawa using the reservation number. The hotel’s city center location makes your walk to the famous attractions, such as Kanazawa castle, Kenrokuen, and Nagamachi quite easy. But if your goal is mainly to visit Shirakawa, then staying in a hotel in the train station is more convenient. The department store across the street of the hotel has a food court on the top floors with some high-quality restaurants opening til late hours.

The location is excellent, can walk to Kenroku-en or get drunk at some good bars located on the street behind and get back easily. The staff is what I like the most, very polite and helpful. When I entered the premises before the check in time to drop my bags, I did not even have to approach the front counter. Found that very effective. One more thing I like is how the room is spacious. I have been paying for cheaper hotels for so long and did not understand why people pay more for simply a bigger room. I booked this hotel because I got a discount and ended up liking it more than I expected, the bathroom is sound-proof to the point that when another person is taking a shower, I can continue sleeping. the mattress quality is also good. (Most of mattresses provided by Japanese Hotels are too hard for me)

Great city center location on the edge of the Samurai district but also on a main road and close to restaurants and shops, in fact linked to several shops and supermarkets.  Good rooms, if slightly dated, but extremely large beds and the best towels we had in Japan.  Sadly not the best pillows, but you can't have everything. We didn't eat in the hotel.  There's a 'german' bakery just down the road on the opposite side, which we used for breakfast and train food and there are many restaurants around, including an Indian restaurant if you're looking for relief....

We were pleasantly surprised by the nice decor and the room we booked was bigger by Japanese standard. By far the best room we had during this trip. The staff was nice and courteous, especially the doorman who greeted us everyday and came forward with a trolley to help us with our luggage on our arrival. It was just off the main shopping street of Korinbo. The bus stop for the tourist loop and local buses was very nearby. Besides, the bus stop for the airport shuttle was just 5mins walk away, in front of Toyoko Inn. It's very convenient

The best feature is its excellent location, a stroll to the main gardens and museums, the samurai district, and a street full of restaurants and bars right behind the hotel. Our double room was spacious, though it would have been even more so had it not been for the ridiculously huge king-sized bed which took up half the floor space. Service was good - the rooms are cleaned only once every 4 nights unless more is requested, which is a good arrangement.
